Best restaurant in Agawam! No really though it is arguably the best restaurant in Hampden county. Great for a special occasion or just a night out. Make reservations on weekend nights. We love to go in during the week and sit the bar area. Fells less formal then the dinning rooms.
Attentive, knowledgeable staff. Good bar; the house special cocktails were excellent. Clever menu and flat out fantastic meals. I had the chef's special "Elephant's Ear" pork chop and it was delicious, perfectly cooked and dressed with a black olive ragout that set the pork off beautifully.
The Federal is truly the finest of dining in western Massachusetts. Every visit we experienced always satisfies our culinary tastes. The menu is full of tasteful delights and is prepared with The Federal's best interests, you the customer. Noteworthy, the menu is updated as the seasons change. Enjoy your visit!
Interesting menu always, figs with cheese wrapped in bacon with balsamic reduction , great start. Good variety of beers on top. Salad with shrimps as add on, good and asparagus lobster very thin crust pizza, excellent. Cappucino martini , kind of flat... And in the wrong glass, I should asked them to change the glassware, it makes the whole experience better and enjoyable....next time

I've attended dinners, private parties and dinners from three to 120 and never been let down.
The tuna steak was also perfectly prepared and utterly delicious. If you live in Western Mass, stop at the Federal in Agawam.
It is a little expensive. Expect to spend a couple of hundred dollars on dinner for 2 if you get drinks, apps, entrees and desert, but for this quality the price is more than fair.
