The food is great, possibly the best Craft Brew selection I've ever heard of, really friendly service, great atmosphere, family friendly. And Jimmy likes to come around and make sure everyone is having a great time. Highly recommend stopping for dinner
It is a great venue with a large bar area. The problem it seems is they are never staffed properly for the number of customers. Many people including myself were waiting up to 30 minutes for a drink at the bar. While we were sitting at a table, our server was terrible! She could not get the beer order straight in three attemps. I had to ask three separate times for more water before it finally came. This is the exact same experience I had the last time I was at Kaptain Jimmy's 2 years ago, except this time the food was slightly better. I will not return nor can I recommend Kaptain Jimmy's.
Went in for drinks and apps on a Friday evening around 5pm and sat on the dining room side to left in the restaurant. The restaurant is huge and was not crowded when we arrived but started to fill up while we were there. Service was super friendly from start to finish. Tried the house distilled vodka straight and it was very smooth. Split a "Lost Island Pupu Platter" with my friend and got more than we expected from this giant app. Piled high with wings, calamari, nachos and spring rolls it was more than enough for two. Would return to try something else off the menu another time and would try sitting in the bar area on a return visit just to shake things up.
Went in for a meal with friends and family. The service was wonderful, but the food left a lot to be desired. The seafood was well prepared and portions were generous but things like the risotto and pasta underneath all that beautiful seafood were incredibly bland, and unfortunately that made up the bulk of the meal. The creme brulee was also lacking luster, and the black rum cake tasted more like a plain chocolate cake with ganache. If not for the lack of flavor, I would've been very happy with our visit.
This was my very 1st time at Kaptain Jimmy's, We were invited for a Christmas dinner With friends. The food was excellent. This is a place I would go to for seafood instead of going out of town for seafood. I ❤ Kaptain Jimmy's
